Paddocks in Yandina
Capturing The Change
Around the corner from our home, the paddocks of Yandina captures the heart of Queensland’s idyllic country life. My new painting, "Paddocks in Yandina," isn’t just a portrayal of that charming country lifestyle, it's a vivid snapshot of a landscape on the brink of transformation.
Recently, this farmland sold to make way for the developement of 200 new houses, these paddocks symbolize a shift from tranquil rural life towards bustling development. Our quaint town, so close to the vibrant Sunshine Coast, faces inevitable change. This evolution stirs complex emotions in me as I ponder what is the price of progression, and what beauty truly means; the untouched countryside or the push of societal expansion?
In this piece, I aimed to capture the paddocks natural beauty and it’s story; a simple time with simple brushstrokes. As Yandina faces change, "Paddocks in Yandina" stands as a tribute to what we love.
In such delicate moments, I realize the intricate dance between nature and development, uncovering the beauty interwoven in both preservation and progress.
