Bulcock Beach
The Tides of Change
Happy New Year, everyone! As I embark on my first blog entry of the year, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful transition from one year to the next. The location I chose for my first painting of the year, Bulcock Beach, is a great representation for the transitions of time. This iconic landmark on the Sunshine Coast is known for its vibrant atmosphere, breathtaking views, and special place in the hearts of local families and communities. Over the years, Bulcock Beach has undergone significant changes, shaped by the relentless forces of nature. Cyclones are common on the Sunshine Coast and have sculpted the landscape, closing what was once an open channel to the sea and creating a serene bay-like area. This evolution not only altered the physical appearance of the beach but also symbolizes the beauty of change—a perfect metaphor as we step into a new year. For me, as a painter, these changes present a unique opportunity to capture the essence of Bulcock Beach, allowing me to immortalize the beauty of its transformation into how it appears today.
As we welcome 2026, it's essential to embrace change with positivity and an open heart. Just as Bulcock Beach has transformed, we too can adapt and grow. The closing of the channel represents new opportunities, inviting us to explore fresh paths in our personal and creative lives. Just as the new year signifies fresh starts and new beginnings, the tides at Bulcock Beach remind us of the constant movement and flow of life. Each high tide brings in new sand and treasures, while low tides reveal hidden gems along the shoreline—much like the opportunities that arise as we navigate our own journeys. Embracing these changes can lead to unexpected joys and discoveries.
I thank everyone for following my journey and I feel privileged that we can share these moments together from all corners of the world. Here’s to a new year filled with new beginnings, adventures, and the beauty of embracing the ever-changing tides of life. May 2026 be a year of growth, connection, and endless possibilities. Cheers!
